Most Perth spa deliveries fail at the last 10 metres. The shop can get the spa to the kerb. The pad is behind a fence, down a side path, or over the house. That is the Hiab job.

Why a Hiab for spa delivery in Perth
A backyard spa is bulky, easy to crack, and usually too wide for a side gate. Friends with a trailer get it to the street. They cannot lift it over Colorbond or a roof.
A Hiab crane truck does the lift and the cartage in one visit. Our 2015 UD Hiab has a remote-control crane, about 13 metres of reach, and a 7.4 m x 2.5 m tray. Lift capacity is up to about 7 tonnes close in, and it drops as the boom goes out. Distance from the street to the pad matters more than the spa's dry weight on the invoice.
We use a spreader bar and slings so the shell is not pinched. The spa stays wrapped until it is down.
What to send for a quote

- Pickup address (spa shop, warehouse, or current house) and the drop-off suburb.
- Make and model, or length x width x height, plus dry weight if it is on the invoice.
- Photos of the street frontage, the side access, the pad, and any powerlines or trees over the lift path.
- Confirm the spa is empty. We do not lift a spa with water in it.
- The date you need it on the pad.
A photo of the pad from the street is the most useful shot. It shows reach, outrigger room, and overhead wires in one frame.
How the job runs
- We price from the photos. If the crane cannot reach or the weight is outside the chart at that radius, we say so before you book.
- We collect the spa from the shop or the old backyard and strap it on the tray.
- On site the truck sets outriggers on the street or driveway. Keep cars off that kerb.
- The spa is lifted, swung over the fence or roof, and lowered onto the pad. Someone on the ground guides the last few centimetres.
- We leave it sitting where you asked. Plumbing, electrics and commissioning are the spa retailer or your electrician.
Tight access, fences and powerlines
A lot of Perth infill blocks have a 900 mm side path, a high fence, and a pad hard against the back wall. That is normal work, not a special request.
Clear the pad and the swing path. Move cars, bins, washing lines and outdoor furniture. Tell us about overhead power, NBN drops, solar edges and low eaves. If wires sit in the lift path, we plan around them or we tell you the job needs a different setup.
Swim spas and larger units
A standard backyard spa is a Hiab job. A swim spa is longer and heavier. Send the weight and the pad distance. If it is outside what this crane can do at that reach, you will hear that on the quote, not on the day.
Retailer pickups from Perth spa and swim spa shops are routine.
Tilt tray or Hiab
Use the tilt tray only if the spa can be winched onto the tray and rolled or forked to the pad with no fence in the way. Most Perth backyard installs need the Hiab. If you are not sure, send the photos. We will say which truck.
FAQ
Do you install the spa, the plumbing or the power? No. We transport and place it. The retailer or your electrician finishes the install.
Can you lift a spa over the house? Often yes, if the street gives the truck room for outriggers and the pad is inside the crane's reach. The roof photos decide it.
How much does spa delivery cost in Perth? It depends on pickup, suburb, spa weight, and how far the pad is from the truck. Send photos for a fixed quote.
Do I need a separate mobile crane? Usually no. The Hiab is the crane. A larger all-terrain crane is only in play when the pad is beyond this boom or the spa is too heavy at that radius.
Is the spa insured on the truck? Ask when you book so the cover matches the job. Do not assume shop delivery insurance still applies once the spa has left the retailer.
Can you do regional jobs? Yes, when the load and access fit the truck. We work Perth metro as the base, plus regional runs by arrangement.
